Coming Soon: Girl Among Thorns

Looking into the past is a lot like staring into a deep well.  I know there's water down there because I can hear it if I throw a rock into it. I know, too, that all kinds of dangerous things live down there--things that would bite and sting and maybe even kill me if I dared go down into it.  I guess the only thing that drives a sane person to lower herself into it is getting real thirsty.  If I want water badly enough, I might risk the damage to get to the bottom of the well.

If God wanted to teach me a lesson about not taking things personally--He couldn't have found a better way to do it.

What is recovery--and who needs it?

It has long been my contention that this world we live in is "the great abuser." No one lives long in any society on the face of this globe without experiences pain, sorrow, and yes, even trauma.

The good news is that recovery is available--we only have to reach out and grasp it!  We have been rescued by a Redeemer God--a Divine Parent who is "not willing that any should perish."

Posted by linda on Monday, February 02, 2009 at 5:33 PM

Oh, boy, are my survival instincts kicking in! We live in VA but our main stream of income is from MI. My friends in MI (the state hardest hit by this crazy economy) --know what I mean. I am talking financial survival. Mike and I are not people who just roll over and play dead in the face of  adversity.  Not  any more!
